Google Maps Engine is an official tool from Google that allows you to create and share maps using Google Maps technology. It also makes it easy to see maps created by other users.
To get an idea of what you can do with Google Maps Engine, just take a look at some of the maps that have already been created. You'll find, among others, life-expectancy maps for each region of the Earth, a map of the ocean floor (courtesy of National Geographic), and a map of CO2 emissions per capita.
To see any one of these maps, just select it from a list of existing maps. Some may take a little while to load, but normally it's just a matter of seconds before you have it ready for viewing on your Android.
Google Maps Engine is an excellent tool for creating and sharing maps, but it's also a great resource for viewing maps created by other users, including National Geographic, NASA, and the World Bank.
